Summer Time!

Well summer is finally here and so is the rain! Seriously, this weather is getting me down! Thank the lord I am leaving for Greece on Saturday so I will see some sunshine this year - even if it does cost me a small fortune. I only fee sorry for poor Hannah having to work on her own while we have a lot going on.

It seems we are moving up in the world! about time I say! We have just moved our Studio & workshop from a back bedroom at Hannah's to a proper venue where we have all our gorgeous items out on display and people are able to come in and watch us work. Its fab. If you live in Berwick or surrounding we are situated near the newly renovated Granary and Youth Hostel just on Dewars lane. We have had great support so far from locals and tourist alike. Long may it continue!

We are pretty busy right now with all our new products etc (Etchasketch, hand and footprints and paw prints) and we currently have an offer over on our facebook group whereby we are discounting our jewellery items so that we can photograph them and use them as samples on our website etc. If your interested please contact us via our website or Facebook group. We are well and truely into the swing of 2011. January has been and gone and February is running away with me too. It'll be Christmas again before we know it......oh what a thought :(

2011 has finally arrived. I can't work out in my head whether last year was a very long year with much to achieve and strive for or if it flew past. Either way, all I remember of it is working a lot! That brings me to my new years resolution.....not to work so much. Ha ha only joking Han! All the jokes aside, we had a very busy year getting SS of the ground and it has been tiring. We will find out if it has been worth it as 2011 progresses I guess.

As Hannah mentioned I have been on a fab holiday to North Tenerife for Christmas and it was lovely. There's nothing better than a bit of winter sun on your back when there's 5 inches of snow back at home! I got back on boxing day to find that many family members were poorly and then shortly after have ended up with swine flu myself! Still - my fingers still know how to type so here I am.

The plans for the year ahead haven't really been discussed as yet but we have plans to expand the company hopefully into a mainstream department store. The rest is still to cup of tea'd over I'm afraid!

My personal aim for the year is to move back home to York, so SS could be popping up in York City shortly. Ive got a feeling we might be joined by Hannah and family there in the near future too.

Snow snow and more blooming snow!

Well we made it successfully through our first year in business! that alone deserves a large vino as far as I'm concerned.

Its been a testing year, from delays getting started and false starts as we felt our way through all sorts of marketing issues. But its been worth it, we have had lots of very happy customers and a few good breaks which will allow us to move forward and grow as we move into 2011.

We have recently invested in a new polishing machine which means we may actually be able to grow our nails a little bit again, but I guess more importantly than that it will enable us to offer a consistently higher quality finish on our jewellery, which basically means more shine! great if like me and Gem your a sucker for a sparkle!

The snow has caused a few problems in the run up to Christmas, not receiving prints until the very last minute and having to send out finished items guaranteed next day delivery to make sure that our customer have their gifts to give on Christmas day, but all successfully delivered now its time to sit down and relax a little until the hard work starts again in January.

So hope that Gem is enjoying the sun in Spain and that the rest of us stuck in the UK with the snow enjoy a great big Christmas dinner with all the trimmings!

Last Christmas....

This Christmas we are fully booked with event and we have enough work on to employ a whole factory worth of people.
Should'nt complain, we have been waiting a long time for a break such as this. Our arms, elbows, shoulders, backs and necks are all knackered but we are still going strong and firing out the Silver like shooting stars.
So we launched our Party Plan plan and held our first part at our sisters house in York. It was very nerve-wracking but it turned out to be good in the end and we were happy with the turn out and how it went.
We have lots planned for the rest of the year and we are just sitting down now with a cuppa and a piece of paper making plans for next year. It seems like a long way off right now having so much work to do but it will come around fast and furious and we like to have a plan.
we'll update you as to what our next steps are so you can keep up to speed with us and our movements.

Good Morning Shoppers...

Christmas is coming and things are starting to heat up here @ Signature Silver. Me and Han are on a mission to complete our first year in business with BANG. We are launching Party Plan and have our first booking already so we have high hopes for that. We are continuing our generosity by rolling out a series of offers to help you out as we nudge closer to xmas including our current offer of 20% all bracelet & charms combo's. man oh man. Having been on Holiday in York for 4 nights for the Beer Festival amongst other things I am feeling a little dodgy to say the least. 4 nights of pure gluttony can lead to some serious body reactions. Had a fab time though and it was good to be home!

But back with a BANG as usual and straight back into the thick of it.

So we have finally launched our wedding jewellery and gift range. It all looks fab and I hope you agree! Our launch was partnered with an exhibition @ the Hardwick Hall Hotel, close to Durham last weekend and that was great to see what everyone else was doing. have a nose! Its safe to say we seem to be doing something completely different to everyone else.
We have also started stocking our jewellery at our local Wedding shop called Bella B in Berwick upon Tweed, a fab shop selling hand made wedding dresses and wedding wear. So xcrossx fingers we do well there.

Also to come we have a 'stay and make' day approaching on 6th November at Hurly Burly's. A local Kiddy fun house near Duns so come along with the family and see us!

So, working hard and playing hard is all in a days work. Autumn is on its way and the Goose is scoffing away fattening itself up with crimbo around the corner. It'll be hear before we know it. OOh, Scary thought!

Its been a while, I know. We have been so busy lately trying to get our new Wedding Range designed, ordered, made and looking gorgeous for the big day on 12th September where we will be exhibiting at our very first wedding fair. A very daunting prospect but we have some fab stuff in the making so we should be fine - at least that's what Hannah keeps telling me!

So as all our Facebook and Twitter supporters loved our giveaway of the Pandora Charm we thought we would stay with the fun and games and do an Online Raffle. So, you buy a ticket a one pound a chuck and if you win 1st 2nd or 3rd prize you will get some pretty cool prizes. Simples!

Did anyone see us in the North East Life magazine in July by the way? Nice to have a magazine promoting local crafts and paying attention to us small companies trying to get ahead!

Well, yes, I have been away on my jollies and I had a fab time! Hannah has done a fantastic job of looking after everything while I was away and I couldn't have timed it better with the North East Baby Roadshow only a week away! Our most important and exciting event of the year!
It was of course our first exhibition on this scale so it was quite a daunting experience to begin with. We had a wee panic on while setting up the stall with our promised electrical sockets nowhere to be seen and 3 sets of twinkle lights in bag waiting to shine. We were finally ready not too long past the deadline and thankfully the customers were trickling in so it wasn't a problem. We had a great position in the grounds being right next to the catwalk where they were holding fashion shows etc. We were also lucky to be set up next to some lovely people and got some good contacts for the future. Numbers on the day weren't as high as expected although we were happy with the response we received and it has only reinforced our belief that we are on the right track! at long last!
Being back into the groove so fast hasn't done much for my state of mind or body! With a cold, sore throat and ears within a week of my bump back to earth. May be next time I'll go for 3 weeks!!
In the pipeline ; We have plans for the rest of the year to expand our product range into the wedding and christening market and will be attending a wedding fair some time soon.
With lots on in the future and the day to day stuff still to do I find myself having to crack on.

Well Gemma has dropped me right in the deep end disappearing off to Greece when we only have 3 weeks to go before we go to the baby show! Plus we have lots of other big things in the pipeline.
Whilst she is sipping on some cold beer somewhere hot, I have been running round Berwick getting corporate T-shirts printed, picking up a banner from Newcastle, printing new price lists etc etc etc. But can't complain really we have had a very busy year and she deserves the break,
Not only is the Gosforth Baby show looming we are now expanding into the Wedding market, and are currently designing a range of giftware for the big day! its very exciting and all will be revealed at the 'Grand wedding exhibition' to be held at Hardwick Hall Hotel in September, watch this space for more details...........
I had a night off from putting my babies to bed on Tuesday night when I got the chance to attend a Women in Business event which was held in Alnwick towk hall, had a lovely night and possibly a great lead so again may have more news on that soon, had a lovely evening mixing with the high flyer's of the region and some heard interesting talks on marketing etc.
Well onwards and upwards got to get back to it otherwise I will be in trouble for letting things slip while the mouse is away!

Had a week from hell............i know we are pretty new to all this but we are now pretty experienced in our game but the solder process is still a major challenge! We only have to solder a few of our items, one of which is the cuff links, which we have on offer right now for fathers day! so, needless to say we have had a few orders and they its challenging our soldering skills! After much time and effort and melting certain items in the house we have cracked it! Until next time!

More from this week, I have finalised a copy which will appear in the July addition of North East Life magazine! Good to know there are people interested in the local crafts and want to help us get off the ground.

We are still planning our trip down to the North East baby roadshow which is happening on 10th July. Seems there will be much competition for us with 3 other companies turning up with fingerprint jewellery. Needless to say that ours is MUCH better! ha. Think we are going for our black and purple theme colours with our jewellery up front, our Stacker jewellery boxes at the back and a big display with photo's etc explaining the process of what we do.
Our next trip out though will be to the Barracks at Pennicuik in Edinburgh to a Family Fun Day. Should be a good day, lets hope the weather picks up again.

Well, we've been busy, busy, busy getting our new Dog Tag ready to go online. We are very pleased with it - it looks fab.....Ive never been one for Dog Tags really but believe me this one would look good on anybody!!
Hannah is away right now having a well deserved break in York with her family. I'm keeping the ball rolling back in Berwick working myself to death (ha, only kiddin Han)!! - live it up while you can! cos i'll be away poncing next week up to Ardnamurchan to stretch my legs and have a rest.
We have worked hard over these last 6 months trying to get our business off the ground. Its a hard slog day in, day out. We are a great team me and Han, we both have our strong points and both give each other a kick up the arse when needed and pick each other up when we're down - either that or just put the kettle on and scoff biscuits!
We are working to get ourselves to the deserved place at the top of the Google list for fingerprint jewellery, its like learning a new language. The more i read the more i'm totally baffled!
And this networking,blogging business.....finding decent and imaginative things to say is always a challenge! Just what we need after a long day!

Well, our visit to Redhorn barracks went reasonably well. We were warmly welcomed and the wags seemed pretty impressed as most of them had not seen or heard of fingerprint jewellery before. We held a raffle, which was a bit of fun and got people interested. The lucky winners will soon be the proud owners of some bloody gorgeous fingerprint charms...even if i do says o myself.

We are hoping to launch an offer this week in celebration of Easter. So watch out for it on facebook/twitter.

Well we have received our proof copy of Vogue magazine to check out our advertisement this morning! How exciting! (We are in the Spring Chicks section pg 362) if you wanna check it out!
We have had a bit of a hectic weekend with our sister Salina, husband Chaiba and son Zaine moving back to the UK from Fuerteventura on Saturday. Been good to catch up, she has been away for 5 years so its been a long time coming. But back to work for us, just like any other Monday! Looking forward to another busy week.

We are a new company set up by my sister and I, Hannah and Gemma.
Originally from the beautiful city of York and now living in the equally beautiful town of Berwick upon Tweed where our company is based.
We specialise in high quality Fingerprint Jewellery made from pure silver. For those of you who are not sure what that is.....We start with the impression of your child/childrens fingerprint and then transfer this onto pure silver. This can either be worn as a neclace or on a charm bracelet but we also have stuff for men and accessories too! But there is no reason why this idea cant be adapted for adults too.
